Michaela & Alec's Wedding!

Look at this beautiful cake I made for my baby sisters wedding!
I tried to make it look like her dress which was layered in ruffles and lace. It is also mostly dummy cakes! That's right, only one tier of real cake there. It's the perfect way to get a big cake without the big price.

Turned out pretty nice, huh?
I also made the cookies for the cookie bar. It was so fun and different to have a variety of delicious cookies and your choice of chocolate or plain milk.
Yummy!

Ray/Anderson Wedding

This is a four tiered white cake with raspberry cream filling covered in fondant with butter cream accents.
I was nervous about this cake ever since the consultation because I was worried that the design and colors would make it look too juvenile or girly for the style of wedding that the bride described. I did what the bride asked and was surprised to see that it didn't stand out from the rest of the decor as bad as I had thought it would.
Although it's not what I would have chosen to do it does look nice. Congrats to the bride and groom! May your future be as bright as the frosting on your cake! :)

Nifty to be Fifity!

This month my Mom turned the BIG 50! My sisters and our good friend Ginnie May put together an adorable surprise party complete with food, friends, fun and a surprise visit by my moms sisters. :) We went with a purple theme since it is my mom's favorite color and of course I made the dessert.
I made 50 cupcakes and decorated them to match the party decor. I am also happy to announce that I can finally use my amazing cameo machine so the cute cupcake wrappers were a must.
There were chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter filling and chocolate icing and white cupcakes with strawberry cream cheese filling with buttercream.
The party was a lot of fun and I'm glad that my mom got to spend time visiting with family and friends.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!!!

Football!

This cake is for a 9 year old boy who is a big fan of the Utes and the Patriots. Thank goodness they have similar colors which made it easy to combine the two teams. I was nervous about this order since I've never done one like this before (exploding) but it turned out nice.

EASTER COOKIES!

We had our first annual King's Easter party today! We had so much fun with the family and I loved putting everything together.
Aren't these little guys cute? I can't take full credit since I got the idea from Pinterest, but they were a big hit.

Blue Bow

Here is my most recent cake project. I thought it was a pretty cake but I wish I could have put a topper on it. I think a bunch of blue hydrangeas would have really pulled the whole thing together nicely. But i understand the need to stay within budget.

The scroll work took me two hours!

Winter/Spring

This week I did a cake for a very spunky little girl who knows what she likes. She said she wanted a cake that was half winter and half spring. She was having a 'Frozen' themed party and wanted to put her figurines on it herself. I have never seen the movie so I asked her to design the cake she had in her head.

Spring
I think it turned out cute and she loved it!

Little monsters!

These little guys were for a first birthday. It's been a long time since I made a cake without fondant but I think they turned out cute.

Pirate Ship!

My son is really into pirates right now so I decided to go with a pirate theme for his birthday.
Not too bad for my first attempt!
I learned a lot of do's and don'ts for next time and hopefully the next ship will be even better. My sweet son said, "Wow Mom! This is the coolest birthday cake ever!" So at least it got his approval. :)
