Bo the Brave!

Bo the brave is turning one!

This cake was so much fun to design and create. It's been a long time since I've been asked to do a cake mostly out of buttercream but I'm thrilled with how it turned out. It looks even better on my tree cake stand.
Look how cute that party table is!
Happy Birthday little Bo!

Little Man

I made this cake for a neighbors baby shower.
The top is lemon and the bottom is vanilla.
Super cute for the little man.

"Bee"-utiful cupcakes!

For my wards Relief Society Birthday Party we did a "Bee"-day celebration!
Of course we had to have cake. What kind of birthday party would it be without cake?
I made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream. The chocolate cupcakes were topped with a cute sugar bee and the vanilla cupcakes had some fondant honeycomb with a drizzle of honey.
Super yummy!
You can always tell how good something is by the amount of leftovers.
FYI: There weren't any. :)

It's 'beary' cold outside!

I love having leftover cake batter to play around with. These little polar bears turned out so cute that I sent them to my husbands office.
The best part of making treats is giving them away. :) And nothing feels better than seeing the look on anothers face when they realize that somebody thought of them.

A very colorful birthday!

A friend asked me to make some fun rainbow cupcakes for her daughters birthday party. I knew what I wanted them to look like but I also wanted to do something fun on the inside.
Aren't these fun? I was so excited with how these turned out and I hope the birthday girl got a kick out if them.

Sprinkles!

This was just for a little fun.
At the Relief Society auction one of the sisters couldn't win a thing. (sad, but pretty funny to watch) so I decided to take her a cake. Her reaction was priceless.

"We're painting the roses red"

Our Relief Society did a favorite things auction and this is what I brought.
A Queen of Hearts cake!
I have been wanting to do a cake like this for a long time and finally had the opportunity. This is also the first time that I made my own roses! Nothing amazing, but for a first time attempt I think they look great!

Everything is Awesome!

My boy is 7! How did that happen? Garrett is constantly building amazing things with his Legos and asked for an "awesome" Lego cake.
I made some fondant Legos but after realizing how much time it took to make them I decided to just use strips of colors to look like stacked Lego blocks. Garrett also asked for lots of colors inside the cake too...
...so that's what he got! :) And of course, when asked how he liked his cake Garrett said, "It's Awesome!"

Andes Cupcakes!

I had some leftovers from the Andes Chocolate Cake so I decided to make a treat for my Sunday School kids.

Cake Tip!

Do you love leftover cake but hate the crusty edges? Just use toothpicks to hold a slice of bread against the cake. The bread will dry out but your cake will stay perfectly soft.

Andes Mint Chocolate Cake!

This cake is positively sinful!
Chocolate cake with Andes bits baked in, mint buttercream, ganache and more Andes bits for garnish. I made this for a friends dinner and there wasn't much left. Can you blame us?

Snickerdoodle Cupcakes!

Oh, yes I did.
Mixing two of my favorite things: Cookies and cupcakes.
The Relief Society president in my ward had surgery recently and I promised her a sweet pick me up as soon as she felt up to it. These cupcakes are delicious! The perfect combination of vanilla and cinnamon give your taste buds a fun little treat. I wish I could say that I had leftover cinnamon frosting, but....well....I was weak.

Thomas the Train!

My baby boy loves Thomas the Train. The only word out of his mouth most of the time is, "choo-choo!" So of course a Thomas cake was needed for his second birthday. I can't believe he's two already!
I'm still not very good with sculpting so I had to use a plastic Thomas, but my son didn't care. especially since he got to keep the Thomas toy.

Paris!

Another super simple cake. I have been wanting to do an Eifel Tower cake for a while and I wish I could have done more, but this is all I could do for the customers asking price.

Pretty little princess!

One of my sisters co-workers ordered these cute cupcakes.

Nachos!

Once again my husband volunteered me to bring the dessert for an office luncheon. And since it happened to be on Cinco de Mayo I thought I'd have a little fun.
Nacho Cupcakes!
Very easy to make. Just Yellow buttercream, strawberry jam and cinnamon sugar chips.

My Spidey sense is tingling!

My son is a huge fan of Spider Man right now so of course he asked for a Spider Man birthday cake.
Red and blue are hard colors to get right with fondant so I took advantage of my new airbrush machine that I got for Christmas! I still need some practice but I'm happy with the end result.

Zebra Cake!

As promised, the inside of the jungle themed cake. I'm so happy with how this turned out and I hope I get to do more in the future.
